Dr. Titos Krasonikolakis’s ongoing education and specialization in breast cancer surgeries are of paramount importance to ensure his patients receive care that aligns with the requirements of international scientific organizations and global guidelines. His focus on early diagnosis and achieving a high quality of life for breast cancer patients helps avoid outdated, radical mastectomy procedures.
In collaboration with Plastic Surgeon Dr. Elena Tzamantaki, he performed Greece’s first “Angelina Jolie” surgery in 2015. This highly demanding procedure, known as One-Stage Skin-Sparing Mastectomy, involved bilateral subcutaneous mastectomies with extensive lymph node dissection from the right axilla and sentinel lymph node biopsy from the left.
The simultaneous mastectomies and immediate breast reconstruction in a single surgery provided the patient with significant physical and psychosocial benefits.
Skin-sparing mastectomies, such as this one, preserve much of the breast skin, allowing for more natural reconstruction results while maintaining safety and effectiveness in cancer treatment. This approach not only improves cosmetic outcomes but also reduces
